Assault Arrest in Dothan

Posted: 10/25/2012 - On October 19, 2012 the Dothan Police Department responded to an assault at a residence located in the 3500 block of Napier Field Road. Upon arrival, police learned the victim; an adult female had been threatened and cut with a pocket knife. According to witnesses, the suspect was at the residence when he became intoxicated and disorderly which lead to the assault. The victim suffered a minor injury and the suspect was arrested bringing the case to a close.

Arrest of Wanted Man

Posted: 10/25/2012 - On October 24th approximately 8:46 pm a Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy observed a Ford F-250 traveling north on Hwy 71 with no headlights. The deputy conducted a traffic stop as the vehicle pulled into the Pilot parking lot. During the traffic stop it was discovered the driver, William Ansley, had an active warrant from Seminole County Georgia for fraud; insufficient funds. Ansley was arrested and transported the Jackson County Correctional Facility to be held for Seminole County.

FL Operation Felon Sweep

Updated: 10/25/2012 - The Bay County Sheriff’s Office participated in the recent Florida Sheriff’s Task Force initiative to remove felons from Florida’s streets. Operation Felon Sweep focused on removing violent felons, felons with outstanding warrants, and sexual offenders and predators from our communities. The statewide sweep ran from September 28 through October 22, 2012 and resulted in 11,875 felony arrests.

Take a Look, Catch a Crook Website

Posted: 10/23/2012 - The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is launching a new program designed to let the public view surveillance photos typically seen only by investigators in crimes ranging from shoplifting to scams. The photos on the Sheriff’s Office website under the new “Take a Look, Catch a Crook” program shows people of interest, witnesses, or potential suspects connected to various crimes around Okaloosa County.
