DOTHAN, AL -- A Wiregrass woman will be charged in the death of her five dogs. Dothan Police say Kathy Hadley is facing five counts of animal cruelty.
Investigators say Hadley left five dogs in a parked car at the Southside Walmart on Tuesday afternoon. Surveillance video shows the dogs were in the car for nearly three hours.
Four of the five dogs died in the car due to heat exposure. The fifth was later euthanized.
Hadley is expected to turn herself in to Dothan Police on Friday. In Alabama, animal cruelty is a Class B Misdemeanor.
