WCSO Makes Drug Arrest

The Washington County Drug Task Force, consisting of Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Chipley Police Department, reports the arrest of Chipley man following an extensive drug investigation as part of an ongoing marijuana eradication initiative.

Through months of undercover surveillance, WCDTF investigators were able to identify and apprehend a suspect wanted in connection to the cultivation of close to 130 marijuana plants in south Washington County. The suspect was arrested on the property in the process of caring for the marijuana plants.

Arrested and charged was:

Gerald Gilmore, 63 year old white male of 3356 Antler Trail in Chipley, FL
• Cultivation of Marijuana (2 Counts)
• Trespassing

“These plants have a street value of over $100,000” states Sheriff Haddock. “To find this many plants and effectively making an arrest for the cultivation of those plants, in addition to the over 100 plants seized last week, is indicative of what will be another very successful eradication effort this year.”

Sheriff Haddock ask that anyone with information on illegal drug activity contact us at 638-TIPS (8477) or by email at tips@wcso.us.
