Wednesday night, two deputies from the Walton Counties Sheriff’s Office made a pair of arrests in a drug case.

While attempting to serve a warrant in DeFuniak Springs, the deputies found a small bag. Later testing revealed this small bag contained crack cocaine.

In addition, a cigarette of marijuana and nearly a thousand dollars of cash were found on Deonta Keshawn Smith.

Smith’s warrant was for Failure to Appear. He now faces charges for possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell/deliver.

Also discovered at the scene are a marijuana plant that was being fed by a lighting system, a small amount of marijuana, rolling papers, and a pill that was found to be Loritab.

Michael Allen Lane of the same residence was also arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of marijuana less than 20 grams, and production of marijuana.

Both were booked into the Walton County Florida Department of Corrections.
