Troy Police received information from the Department of Forensic Science Friday (1/4) on the identity of a suspect in connection with two December 21st church burglaries in Troy according to information released by Chief Anthony Everage of the Troy Police Department.
DFS has identified the perpetrator as 34-year-old Willie Winslow Shy, a black male from Troy by DNA evidence left at the crime scenes. He is 6’1” tall and weighs approximately 190 pounds.
The December 21st burglaries were reported and occurred at 12:10 a.m. at First Baptist Church on College Street and at 4:53 a.m. at St. Martin Catholic Church on Highway 87 in Troy.
Shy also has an outstanding burglary 3rd degree warrant in connection with a third burglary on December 21st at approximately 11:00 a.m. at a residence on Pike County Road 3304 south of Troy.
Shy has not been arrested for these crimes and his whereabouts are unknown at this time. Police believe he has left the Troy area.
