Trial Date Set for Man Accused of Kidnapping Stepdaughter

DOTHAN, AL - A trial date has been set for the man accused of kidnapping his stepdaughter in September.

Authorities say Charles Partin kidnapped 15-year-old Aileen Lander from a Dothan doctor's office and then led police on a multi-state manhunt.

He faces federal charges of transporting a minor across state lines for immoral purposes and transporting a stolen vehicle across state line.

Jury selection in Partin's case is scheduled to start on March 18.

Partin's wife, Julie Bethke, faces a state charge of interfering with child custody. She's being held in the Houston County Jail.
