FLORENCE, Ala. (AP) -- Florence police have charged three teenagers with capital murder in the shooting death of another teen during an attempted robbery.

Police Lt. Eric Nichols tells the TimesDaily newspaper 18-year-old LaMarcus Lashore, 19-year-old Devante Barnett and 19-year-old Tyrus Montrel Thompson were charged Saturday.

They were being held without bail in the Lauderdale County Detention Center.

It wasn't immediately clear whether the men had lawyers.

Police say17-year-old Joshua D. Honey was shot once in the chest with a handgun just after midnight Friday at his home in east Florence.

Police say the teen's mother was home at the time.

Nichols says investigators have determined the shooting was likely drug related.

Police Deputy Chief Tim Shaddix said the death was the city's first homicide this year.
