BESSEMER, Ala. (AP) -- Police in Bessemer have arrested a teenager on charges of inciting a riot in connection with a series of fights that broke out at the Alabama Adventure water and theme park.
The Birmingham News reports that several fights broke out at the
park Monday afternoon.
Authorities say that several police officers from Bessemer and Hueytown, along with Jefferson County sheriff's deputies, were called to the park when the fighting broke out.
Park officials say they believe a $10 discount admission price
before 10 a.m. on Mondays contributed to the situation because it
attracted several unsupervised juveniles.
Park officials say they've canceled that promotion for the rest of this season.
The 15-year-old boy was released to his parents.
