Suspects Arrested for Allegedly Selling Drugs from a Hotel

On April 1, 2011, the Bay County Sheriff's Office narcotics division developed information that someone was selling prescription medication from a hotel in the Callaway area.

Investigators were able to locate the hotel room at the Days Inn in Callaway and set up a surveillance team.

Investigators were able to gather enough information to obtain probable cause for a search warrant on this hotel room.

Investigators served the search warrant and seized prescription pain pills and over $10,000 in U.S. currency found hidden inside a shoe in a shoe box.

Investigators arrested Kevin Lamont Hayes, DOB 11/23/72, of Jacksonville, for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of less than Twenty Grams of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

At the time of his arrest Hayes stated to investigators that he had been in Bay County just two days and had made the $10,000 selling oxycodone.

    Well yall need to thank him for having 10.000 dollars that should help the Bay County Sheriffs office to buy gas, so yall can continue to serve Bay County's citizen's. Yall want have to stop and sit, yall can continue to ride about and protect the county.Yall want have to be so worried about the cost of gas.
