JACKSON, Miss. (AP) -- Authorities say a suspect has agreed to return to Mississippi from Florida to face charges that he killed a Catholic priest.
Jeremy Wayne Manieri was arrested Tuesday in Polk County, Fla., and is suspected in the death of the Rev. Edward E. Everitt, whose body was found Monday in beach house in Waveland, Miss.
Authorities say Manieri took the Louisiana priest's money and car and fled to Florida with his ex-wife and children for a Disney World vacation, though he was arrested before making it to the theme park.
Polk County, Fla., Sheriff Grady Judd said Manieri had a court appearance Wednesday and waived extradition to Mississippi, meaning
he agreed to return to face charges.
