Suspect Apprehended in Home Invasion

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports the successful end to an investigation that began when an assailant forced his way into a residence on Rock Hill Church Road on January 11th at 12:30 a.m.

During the home invasion, the assailant attacked the home owner and took almost $3,000 in cash. After the assailant left the home, the victim got into his vehicle and chased the suspect’s vehicle until he lost contact with him.

Washington County Sheriff’s Office investigators tracked the suspect to the Garden Apartments in Marianna and ultimately gathered enough evidence to charge the suspect with the home invasion.

Orinthid Jabbar Hayes, 31 year old black male of Garden Apartments in Marianna, FL

·Burglary of Occupied Dwelling
·Home Invasion
·Grand Theft

“Apprehension of a suspect is one piece of a large puzzle. Our goal is to present a suspect and have built a case strong enough to ensure they are held responsible for their actions” states Sheriff Haddock. “Justice is not instantaneous and our ultimate priority is the successful prosecution of criminals who victimize our residents.”
