Substance Abuse High in Native American Teens

Native American minors have the highest rate of substance use and abuse, compared to other ethnic groups.

African American and Asians aged 12 to 17 are at the opposite end of the scale with the lowest rate.

Duke University Medical Center researchers also found that almost four in every ten 12 to 17 year olds admit to using drugs or alcohol in the past year.

Marijuana was the most frequently used drug, followed by prescription painkillers.

They really don't have all that much to be proud of. The Europeans came over and whipped their ancestors tales and took their land. Then all kinds of folks came over and got more and more land. It's strange how Europe was more modern than America, the Indians fought with bows and arrows, much like stone age people and people from Europe had guns, and big ships and the Indians didn't have jack. But they were on their land as long as Europeans were on their land. Why didn't they try to come out of the stone age ?? So they drink and get stoned to forget because they have nothing to remember.
