Student Injured in School Shooting

A 16-year-old girl was shot while on a school bus.

Around 2:00 p.m., police say a group of teenage boys opened fire near Pearl Cohn High School in Nashville, Tenn.

The four suspects were apparently after an 18-year-old student who was walking to the bus.

Authorities say they assaulted the boy and opened fire from across the street as he got on the bus.

One witness said, “The guys ran into apartment building and I guess they didn’t realize that the police officers were in the alley, because they was on their trail, and they came out, and they was behind the police officers, who were behind the dumpster.

They came out on the front side, and they just were right there on them, and they tried to run from the officers, and they threw the gun in the dumpster.”

The injured girl was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The four suspects have been arrested and two guns recovered.
