Self-Proclaimed Vampire to be Tried in Etowah County

A grand jury will hear evidence next month in the case of a man who told Etowah police that he's a vampire.

20-year-old Evan Francis Brown faces charges of second degree assault after police say he used a fork or spoon to burn a "v" into a 17-year-old's forehead.

Brown was arrested in december. Police say he tricked the teenager by telling him they were playing a game... Then tied the teen up and burned the v into his forehead.

Detectives say brown told them his religious belief is Satanism and that he goes by the nickname "Vamp."

His lawyer waived a preliminary hearing.

It`s stupid the fact that this man burnt a "V" into a young boy`s forehead! That`s just flat out cruel. I think that people should practice their own religion as long as it does not obtain somebody elses` well being.
