The Elmore County sheriff is still shaking his head over a recent jailbreak.
Sheriff Bill Franklin says five inmates managed to escape through a small hole in the jail last week. He says the most shocking part of the story isn't that they escaped but why they escaped.
Each escapee was only facing minor charges like failure to pay a seatbelt ticket and public intoxication.
One of the escapees has been apprehended. The U.S. Marshall Service is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of the remaining suspects.
Each of the escaped inmates would have been released in a few days time. Now, however, they each face up to 20 years, and anyone helping them faces one to 10 years.
