Reward Offered in Fire that Destroyed Daleville Church in May

Daleville, AL — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Nashville Field Division, the Dale County District Attorney’s Office, Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office, Daleville Police and Fire Departments announced today the offering of a $7,000 reward for any information regarding the fire that occurred on May 18, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church, 44 S. Daleville Avenue, Daleville, Alabama, that may lead to the arrest and conviction of any person or persons involved in the fire.

On May 18, 2014, a fire consumed the First United Methodist Church, Daleville, Alabama, and the structure was deemed a total loss. A thorough scene investigation was conducted by ATF and the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office.

ATF dispatched a Certified Fire Investigator (CFI) and additional special agents to the scene. CFIs are highly trained special agents, who provide technical support, analysis and assistance to its state and local partners in the areas of fire origin and cause determination and arson investigation.

ATF, Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office, Dale County District Attorney’s Office as well as the Daleville Police and Fire Departments are conducting this investigation. Anyone with the information about the incident should call the Daleville Police Department at 334/598-4442.
