Registered Sex Offender Accused of Violating Community Notification Act

A Dothan man is accused of violating the Community Notification Act.

According to a press release from the Dothan Police Department, Daxshryl Butler, 36, of Edgefield Drive, was arrested on May 8 after he confirmed he no longer lived at a residence where he was listed as a registered sex offender.

Butler was charged with violating the Community Notification Act. His bond amount was set at $5,000.

The Dothan Police Department will continue to monitor all listed sex offenders and prosecute those not in compliance with the laws of the state.
