Prisoner on work-release shot in Savannah

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) -- Authorities say a prisoner on work release from the Chatham County Jail was is in critical condition after being shot late Wednesday night.

Police say they were called to Westlake Apartments on Westlake Avenue shortly before midnight and found 33-year-old Anthony Joyner shot.

The Savannah Morning News reports that people in the area reported hearing gunshots moments after Joyner disappeared behind one of the apartment buildings.

Police are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call Crime Stoppers of Savannah-Chatham County.

    He might have been trying to break in to one of the apartments. Was he working at the apatments ? If not, then he shouldn't have been over there.He may have been sneaking around and scared some one and they shot him, who knows ?
