UPDATE - 10 a.m.

Emanuel Terrail Bryant is being held without bond on a murder charge. Bryant was arrested in Daleville on Wednesday night.

He is accused to shooting and killing Daniel Lanier Dawsey on Eugene Street in Dothan on Tuesday night.

Emanuel Bryant is now in custody. He was arrested in Daleville, Alabama shortly before 9 p.m Wednesday.

UPDATE - 10:30 a.m.

On May 6th 2014, at approximately 8:33 pm, the Dothan Police Department responded to the 1000 block of Eugene Street in reference to a firearm assault.

Upon arrival, officers found a black male, lying on the ground, unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head. Emergency personnel on scene immediately began treating the victim, who was then transported to the Southeast Alabama Medical Center. At approximately 9:30 pm, the victim, now identified as 31 year old Daniel Lanier Dawsey was pronounced dead from injuries suffered due to the assault.

Investigators say the shooting was the end result of a physical altercation which occurred prior to the assault. The shooter has been identified as Emanuel Tarrail Bryant and a warrant has been issued for his arrest, charging him with murder.

The Dothan Police Department is seeking the help of our local and surrounding communities in locating Emmanuel Bryant. Bryant is a black male, who stands at 6 feet 1 inches and weighs approximately 160 pounds.

Bryant is considered to be ARMED & DANGEROUS and police are asking anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to call the Dothan Police Department at 334-615-3000.

The Dothan Police Department will stringently guard and protect the identities of all those who wish to help in an anonymous capacity.

UPDATE - 10:20 a.m.

Family and friends have confirmed to WTVY, Daniel Dawsey was shot and killed in the 1000 block of Eugene Street in Dothan on Tuesday night. Witnesses say Dawsey was shot by someone he know after an argument escalated.

WTVY's Jessica Leicht is working on this story, and she'll have an update tonight on News 4.

UPDATE: 12:06 a.m.

At approximately 9:30 pm, the person that was attacked during this incident and sent to the hospital, has died.

Investigators are still gathering facts to the incident and another update will be given shortly.

UPDATE: 10:10 p.m.

Dothan Police continue to investigate the incident.

Authorities have a suspect in mind, however, that suspect is not in custody at this time.

Neighbors say they don’t know any details of the incident.

UPDATE: A press release from the Dothan Police Department states that the shooting occurred at 8:45 p.m. on the 1000 block of Eugene Street.

Police say one subject has been transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Investigators are still gathering information on the reason for the shooting.
