East Point police Lt. Cliff Candler said the body was discovered Sunday morning after the man called dispatchers at Day & Night cab company to report he'd been shot about 4 a.m.

Police found the man about 11 a.m.

The body was discovered inside the cab at the entrance to Oak Knoll Elementary School.

Joe Darin with Day & Night told The Associated Press that the victim was Jack Rainey.

Darin said Rainey has three children -- a 9-year-old, an 11-year-old and a child in college.

He said Rainey was in his 40s and described him as "a loveable old guy."
