The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a robber armed with a knife who injured a Laurel Hill man Tuesday during a struggle over a wallet.

The 26-year old victim says he was at Gulf Coast Monument Company at 100 Martin Drive in Crestview around 9 a.m. when a man approached him, pulled out a knife, and demanded his wallet. The victim began to struggle with the robber and was cut in the leg when he tried to push the knife away from his stomach.

E-M-S personnel assessed the victim’s injuries at the scene and the man said he would drive himself to the hospital.

The suspect is described as a very dirty male, slim, and about 5’7” to 5’9” tall. He was wearing a dark-green sweatshirt with a hood, a dark blue hat, and very dirty jeans, along with black plastic sunglasses.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office at 850-689-5705 or 850-651-7400 or Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-863-TIPS.

Did the robber get the wallet or not ? Cancel your debit and credit cards and wait till he trys to use them. Maybe the people at the store will try to detain him long enough for the cops to arrive.Probably was a dope head needing a fix.
