Ohio Teens Admit Guilt in Teen's Hair Afire on Bus

HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) -- Three teenage boys have pleaded guilty to charges after a classmate's hair was set on fire on a school bus in southwest Ohio.

A 17-year-old, a 16-year-old and a 15-year-old boy entered their pleas Tuesday in Butler County Juvenile Court in Hamilton.

The 15-year-old and the 17-year-old pleaded guilty to attempted aggravated assault and will remain in juvenile detention until sentencing May 27.

The 16-year-old pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct and will be electronically monitored at home until sentencing.

The Hamilton JournalNews reports that 16-year-old Devin Lewis says he was on a Middletown school bus Feb. 4 when someone pulled off his hood.

He says he jerked his head back when a student held a lighter in front of his face and another student then set his hair on fire.

That was real funny wasn't it. You better be glad the kid didn't have some sort of stuff in his hair that was flameable and wound up disfigured. Some of you teenagers are real stupid. Try to think before you do something, and don't let other kids talk you in to things. They'll say, "I got your back", but when push comes to shove they'll let you dig your own way out. They'll also say "don't rat us out" when the heat gets on them they'll point their finger at you. It's best if you live a good life, and leave ruin alone.
