New Brockton Police Chief and Daughter Attacked

An area police chief and his daughter are hospitalized after being attacked Thursday afternoon.

Authorities say 48-year-old Timothy Adams walked into New Brockton Police Chief Dale Grimes' office, yelled, "Dale, this is your day!" and began punching the chief. The chief's daughter, Christie Grimes, was working as a dispatcher. She ran into the office where Adams allegedly attacked her.

Responding officers had to tase Adams before he was subdued.

Chief grimes and his daughter were taken to an area emergency room where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Adams is being held in the coffee county jail on assault charges. Additional charges are pending.
