The boy's father, 29-year-old Tamarcus J. Daise, reported the child and car missing Friday afternoon. He told police he and the boy's mother left the car idling while they went to see a friend at a nearby apartment.
Shortly after the car was taken, Daise and his half brother, 27-year-old Tyreece Rutledge, were arrested following an argument with officers. Daise was charged with obstruction of justice, and Rutledge was charged with pointing a gun on two detectives.
No arrests have been made for the car theft or abduction.
