FLORENCE, Ala. (AP) - Police say two men who were working on
renovations at a north Alabama police station are accused of taking
nearly 50 pounds of marijuana from the evidence locker.

The TimesDaily newspaper reports that police have arrested
45-year-old Scott Raymond Burgert and 40-year-old Bradley Thomas
Jones, both of Florence.

Florence police Chief Rick Singleton says the two are charged with first-degree theft of property and trafficking marijuana.

Singleton says the two were putting an exhaust fan in the evidence vault.

Singleton says the marijuana was scheduled for disposal and was being stored on a top shelf in the vault.

He said the men removed the drugs a bit at a time over a period
of three days.

Burgert and Jones are being held in the Lauderdale County
Detention Center on bail of $30,000 each.

I bet they feel stupid now.I guess they thought the police wouldn't notice that the pot was gone.I bet all their acquaintances are laughing about how stupid they were for doing that.
