On April 07, 2011 at approx 11:10 p.m., officers of the Marianna Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a white Chevy truck for a moving and equipment violation on Pebble Hill Rd.
Contact was made with the driver and she was advised of the reason for the stop. The officer told the driver she would be issued a written warning for the violations.
The driver exited the vehicle walked to where the officer was writing the warning and at that time the officer asked her for consent to search the vehicle for illegal contraband.
The driver demonstrated a very nervous behavior but granted the officer consent to search.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and inside the cab was a small, black purse which the driver stated was hers.
The officer then located a black and white pouch containing a “baggie” with methamphetamine, another bag with a larger amount of methamphetamine residue, two straws (used for ingesting the substance), and a contact lens case with methamphetamine residue.
The officer then located multi colored zippered bag with a glass smoking pipe, two plastic cylinders, one contained methamphetamine and the methamphetamine residue.
Julie K. Adams was arrested for the above charges and later taken to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
