The Bay County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is asking for the public’s assistance to identify a suspect that robbed his victim at knifepoint.
On July 3, 2011, at about 1:00 am, the BCSO was called by security personnel at the Back Door Lounge at 7800 Front Beach Road. The victim stated he had been talking with the suspect in the bar until an altercation between the suspect and a woman in the bar caused security to escort the suspect outside. The victim stated he went outside with the suspect to talk and the two went for a walk. The suspect stated he knew a place the two could go to hang out and the victim agreed to go.
The victim told investigators that when the two got behind the Bay Walk-In Clinic on Front Beach Road, the suspect told the victim to go ahead and smoke a cigarette because once at his friend’s house there was no smoking allowed. According to the victim, once he sat down the suspect placed his foot on the victim’s chest, pulled a knife, and shoved him to the ground, holding the knife to his throat. The suspect demanded the victim’s wallet and cell phone and left the victim on the ground. The victim walked back to the Back Door Lounge and had security call 911.
The suspect is described as 6’3”, 260 pounds, a white male with shoulder length dark hair and dark facial hair and introduced himself as “Tim”. Security video of the suspect from the Lounge was obtained. Anyone with information on this suspect is asked to contact BCSO Inv. Jason Daffin at 248-2115 or Crime Stoppers at 785-TIPS.
