HONOLULU (AP) -- Authorities in Hawaii say a 28-year-old man shot
at two cars stopped in traffic, then drove across Honolulu firing at random and wounding three people before he was finally taken into custody.

Police say Toby Stangel of Haleiwa on Oahu's North Shore got out
of his car just before 1 a.m. Friday , walked up to the two vehicles and fired. Police Maj. Richard Robinson says he then drove onto a freeway, pulled alongside a woman and opened fire again. A man driving by in a separate vehicle was also shot.

Robinson says Stangel continued west and shot at police. The officers were uninjured and Stangel was taken into custody soon
afterward.

Authorities say two women were listed in critical condition and a man was in serious condition.
