Man Faces Life in Prison for Murder of Vivian Ford

A grand jury has returned an indictment for one of the men accused of murdering a 62-year-old Jackson County woman.

Vivan Ford was found dead in her home on November 27. Investigators say she was killed when she confronted two men who were trying to burglarize her home.

The jury found probable cause to charge 21-year-old John Wayne Lincoln the second with first-degree murder, robbery with a deadly weapon and burglary with a deadly weapon. If convicted, he could receive life in prison.

The state attorney's office has not yet determined if it will seek the death penalty.

Vivan Ford was the secretary for the Jackson County school superintendent.
