DAPHNE, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a man whose body was found
in his apartment had been strangled with a pair of electrical cords.
Steven McCullough's body was found Sunday, and now his roommate
is facing murder charges in connection with the death.
Police say 31-year-old Shaun Carmadelle has been charged with capital murder.
Police Lt. Jud Beedy says that McCullough's wife had gone to Texas to care for a sick relative, so they sought a roommate to help share the expense of their south Alabama apartment.
But Beedy says Carmadelle asked to borrow his roommate's truck
so he could drive to Mobile to buy drugs and hire prostitutes.
Police say that when McCullough refused, he was strangled by two
electrical extension cords around his neck, tied together in a knot.
