Jail records show 21-year-old Alan Lopez-Salazar was being held Sunday in the Collier County Jail on a charge of child abuse without great harm.

Bond is set at $10,000.

It wasn't immediately known if he has an attorney.

A sheriff's office report says Lopez-Salazar hit a boy Saturday and caused the child's skull to swell and bleed when he tried to take a soccer ball from the child.

Authorities have not released the age of the victim.
