BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (AP) -- The man accused of fatally shooting a south Georgia liquor store clerk during a botched robbery has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for voluntary manslaughter.

WALB-TV reports Brandon Smith has pleaded guilty and was sentenced Tuesday in the 2001 death of Wendy Bryan.

The television station reports Smith's suspected getaway driver, Willie McGriff, disclosed information on him to authorities when he was convicted in a separate murder.

Bainbridge is about 40 miles north of Tallahassee, Fla.
