An area resident was arrested by Dothan Police on Saturday, May 25 after he allegedly pulled out a handgun during a "safety pat-down" with an officer.

An officer with the Dothan Police Department conducted a field interview with Terrance Lee, 21, of Cynthia Drive in the 1300 block of Alexander Drive while responding to a disorderly conduct complaint in the 1500 block.

According to authorities, during the “safety pat-down” of Wright, Wright placed his hand into his pants pocket and attempted to remove a 9 millimeter handgun.

After a brief struggle with Wright, the officer was able to separate Wright from the weapon. Wright fled the scene, but was later apprehended at a relative’s home nearby.

Wright was taken into custody and charged with first degree attempted assault. More charges are pending. His bond has been set at $30,000.
