Hundreds Turn Out for Officer's Wake

Hundreds gathered here in Athens to pay their respects to Officer Elmer "Buddy" Christian.

He was investigating a car-jacking in northeast Georgia... when he was suddenly gunned down and killed.

And today, hundreds gathered here in Athens to pay their respects to Officer Elmer "Buddy" Christian.

Here you can see friends, family and colleagues lining up outside a funeral home for his wake.

The 34-year-old officer's funeral is scheduled for Sunday afternoon in downtown Athens.

The man accused of killing Christian is now behind bars.

He surrendered to police Friday night on live television.
