Human Trafficking Suspect Remains in Jail

A human trafficking suspect will remain in jail.

Yesterday, Presiding Judge Butch Binford denied a request to lower the bond for Alonso Santiagito.

He was arrested back in August.

Bail is set at $282,500.

Santiagitio is accused of holding a 17-year-old girl captive in a Dothan motel.

Investigators say he kidnapped the victim in Mississippi and forced her to engage in drugs and prostitution.

Santiagito's attorney says the girl made it all up.

Santiagito was supposed to stand trial for 3-felony charges this week but Judge Binford delayed that trial to January 13th of next year.
