Police say the suspect used a circuit of fourt states to hold women captive. However, one girl’s bravery got this man off the streets and behind bars.

27-year-old Alonso Satiagito was arrested on Thursday. He is charged with human trafficking, distribution of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.

Police say they arrested Satiagito after a Mississippi teenager escaped from the Quality Inn in Dothan. She made her way to another hotel and asked someone staying there for help.

The investigation shows Satiagito held multiple women against their will. They were beaten and forced to use drugs to keep them from escaping. They were also sold for sex.

Dothan Police are releasing more information about Friday’s human trafficking arrest.

Police say Alonso Santiagito, 27, held a girl over the age of 15 against her will at the Quality Inn in Dothan.

The victim is a runaway from Mississippi. Police say Santiagito forced her and other women to use drugs and have sex for money.

They believe he was taking them to hotels in Mississippi, Tennessee, Panama City and Dothan.

The girl was able to escape to another hotel in Dothan to get help.

Santiagito is being held with no bond, other charges are pending.

The Dothan Police Department is holding a “question and answer” session on Monday morning in reference to last week’s human trafficking arrest.

On Friday, the Dothan Police Department arrested a Tennessee man after a citizen reported that a female juvenile had escaped from a hotel where she was being held captive.

Investigators say Alonso Santiagito, 27, picked the victim up in Mississippi and transported her to Dothan. There she was allegedly held against her will and forced to use drugs and have sex for money, with the threat of physical harm if she refused.
