Houston County Sheriff's Office Charge Man with Newton Rape

The Houston County Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged a man with rape and sodomy after he allegedly assaulted a female on Market Road in Newton.

According to authorities, David Matthew Holder sexually assaulted a woman on Sunday, June 16. The Houston County Sheriff’s Office received information about the alleged assault from the victim.

An investigation into the act led the sheriff’s office to charged Holder with rape in the first degree and two charges of sodomy.

Holder is being held at the Houston County Jail on a total bond of $30,000.
