UPDATE: Home Invasion Robbery Investigation

UPDATE:
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect in connection with an October 15th home invasion robbery at Pier One Condominiums on Pelham Road in Fort Walton Beach.

17-year old Michael Anthony Smith Jr. of 911 Vita Lane was taken into custody today on one count of Home Invasion Robbery.

The 64-year old victim of the crime told deputies he was sitting inside his home when three assailants came in the back door around 1:30 a.m. He says one of the individuals struck him in the face several times with a closed fist as they demanded money. The robbers then took his wallet, jewelry, and other items before leaving.

Investigators say the victim picked Smith out of a photographic line-up as the “person who beat me during the robbery”.
The investigation is continuing.

A Fort Walton Beach man says he was punched several times and robbed during a home invasion around 1:30 this morning on Pelham Road.
The 64-year old victim told Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputies he was sitting inside his home when he heard his back door open. He says three black males came in and one of the individuals walked over and punched him several times while demanding money.
The thieves then stole jewelry, wallet, and other items before leaving out the back door.
The man described the robbers as clean shaven, between the height of 5’10” and 6’00” tall.
