Gwaltney Drive Fire Ruled Arson

DOTHAN, AL - A house fire on Friday, September 21st, has been ruled an arson.

The home on Gwaltney Drive was owned by Monty Ervin. He's currently serving 10 years in federal prison for felony tax evasion and conspiracy to defraud the government.

Initial reports say the fire started in the home's carport. A joint investigation by the Dothan Police and Fire departments, FBI, ATF and the Fire Marshal's Office determined it was initially set.

No arrests have been made.
If you have any information about the fire, call the Alabama Arson Hotline at 800-654-0775 or firemarshal.alabama.gov
