DOTHAN, AL--A grand jury met Thursday on a police involved shooting case and they're hearing testimony from new witnesses.
The case the grand jury is hearing the case involving 23-year-old Christopher Thomas.
More than a dozen family and friends gathered Thursday morning outside the Houston County Courthouse.
As three new witnesses entered the room to meet with the Grand jury.
If you can remember on June 28, 2012.
Investigators say when police tried to pull over Thomas, he didn't stop and that led to a chase.
Police say when Thomas tried to pull into a parking lot, he hit another car on Montgomery Highway.
Investigators say when the officer got out of his car and asked Thomas to stop, Thomas accelerated toward the officer and that's when the officer shot him.
Friends and family say with more witnesses they hope the case ends with justice for Thomas.
"From what I understood this can't be justified because it's too many witnesses saying the same thing about what happened," said Catherine Thomas, Thomas' mother.
"Making sure that all the witnesses are present that seen exactly what happened, when you have at least 7 to 10 witnesses and even more that we know of with affidavits, we just want to make sure that all of the evidence is presented to the grand jury," said Pastor Kenneth Glasgow.
