GAINESVILLE, Ga. (AP) -- A funeral home in Georgia will be handling arrangements for the man who police say shot and killed a former co-worker outside the Empire State Building last week.
The Times of Gainesville reported Monday (http://bit.ly/PhXwEL) that Jeffrey Johnson had graduated from Gainesville High School in 1971. School officials say Johnson, as a student, was involved in intramural athletics, the Pep Club and the school newspaper.
Authorities say Johnson shot and killed Steven Ercolino on Friday morning. The two were former co-workers at Hazan Import Corp. Johnson was killed by police officers.
Gainesville Police Cpl. Kevin Holbrook told the newspaper that officers assisted in notifying Johnson's next of kin.
Officials with Memorial Park North Funeral Home in Gainesville told the newspaper they did not know when services would be held.
