On 6-6-2012, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, was notified by the Department of Children and Families of a report of alleged sexual abuse on a twelve year old and a nine year old child.
During the subsequent investigation, investigators learned that the alleged victims were residing with their mother and their mother’s boyfriend and that the family had moved to Jackson County on or about the first of March, 2012.
Investigators learned that the boyfriend, identified as Charlie Senior, Jr., was a registered sex offender in the State of Georgia and that warrants had been issued for his arrest for absconding from supervision as a registered sex offender.
Investigators determined that Senior had failed to register with the State of Florida as a convicted felon and a convicted sex offender. Investigators were able to determine that Senior was living under the assumed identity of Moutayvayon Dawis Drake and that Senior had obtained a driver’s license from the State of Alabama that enabled him to perpetuate this identity.
On 6-6-12, investigators arrested Senior for the active warrants from Georgia as well as failing to register in Florida. On 11-19-12, after consultation with Prosecutors from the Office of the State’s Attorney, investigators determined that probable cause existed to charge Senior with one count of Sexual Battery on a child and one count of Lewd and Lascivious Molestation on a child under the age of twelve.
Sheriff Roberts wishes to thank the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the Alabama Highway Patrol for their assistance with this investigation.
