PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities say a 22-year-old woman jumped into the Intracoastal Waterway while fleeing police.

A Palm Beach marine officer pulled Aja Nicole Simes from the water about 10 minutes after she jumped off the Flagler Memorial Bridge Sunday morning.

She is a suspect in an accident that occurred early Sunday.

Police say she took off after an officer stopped her for having an obscured license plate. She crashed into a fence at the Palm Beach Country Club and, as an officer approached her, she took off on foot.

A tip led officers to the bridge, where they attempted to grab her.

But she got away and dove off the bridge.

She was charged with a felony for fleeing and eluding a police
officer, and various misdemeanors.

Crazy ol' girl. Suppose she hit something in the water and got paralyzed, oh but she wasn't thinking of that. She was having a bit of drama to play. They should give her a h*ll of a fine to pay.
