ANDALUSIA, Alabama – Deputy U.S. Marshals and investigators with the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task force(GCRFTF), Covington County Deputy Sheriffs, and Coffee County Deputy Sheriff’s arrested Kevin Phillips this morning on River Falls Street in Andalusia, Al.
The U.S. Marshals Task Force in Montgomery received information from the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force (FLRFTF) in Pensacola that Kevin Phillips was believed to be living near Andalusia, AL.
Phillips was wanted in Walton County, FL for the 2010 Sexual Abuse of a four year old child that was left in his care.
Task force investigators were able to determine that Phillips was living in an apartment in Andalusia and early this morning the arrest team moved in and arrested Phillips.
“Phillips did not resist when he was taken in to custody this morning” said U.S. Marshal Art Baylor.
“One of the reasons for creating the regional fugitive task forces was to assist state and local law enforcement agencies in apprehending sexual predators like Phillips. It is always a good day for law enforcement and a better day for the communities we serve when we remove predators like Phillips from our streets”, added Marshal Baylor.
