Feds to Investigate Mississippi Hate Crime

The death of a black man in Jackson, Miss., is being investigated as a federal hate crime.

Prosecutors say surveillance video shows the final act in the deadly beating of 49-year-old James Anderson. The suspects ran him over with a pick-up truck.

Prosecutors say a group of white teenagers singled Anderson out simply because he was black.

The accused ringleader, 18-year-old Deryl Dedmon, faces murder charges. One other accused, 18-year-old John Rice, is charged with a lesser crime and is out on bail.

Five other teens who allegedly took part in the murder have not been charged.
