The Bay County Sheriff’s Office responded to a case of road rage which resulted in an arrest for aggravated assault.
On April 10, 2011, at about 2:30 pm, the victim stated he observed a man driving a silver Nissan sedan recklessly. The victim attempted to pass the Nissan sedan and did manage to get in front of the vehicle. At that point, the victim told deputies, the driver of the Nissan pointed a black handgun out of his window in the direction of the victim. The victim then called law enforcement.
Deputies from the Field Services Division located the silver Nissan sedan at the owner’s home at 420 North Kimbrel Avenue in Callaway. The owner, James Earl Davis, DOB 12/5/80, told deputies he did point his Taurus .40 caliber firearm out the window towards the victim to defend himself. Though he stated he felt the need to defend himself from the victim, Davis never did call law enforcement about the incident.
Davis was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Firearm.
