The Walton County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of Marquis G. Campbell, 16, and Brandon Roman, 17, both of DeFuniak Springs, FL. Campbell and Roman have been charged with Burglary and Grand Theft, both third degree felony charges. The criminal duo was arrested on July 17, 2012 after a literal “trail of evidence” led to where the suspects were hiding out.

Deputies initially responded to the Whole 9 Yards store in Mossy Head after the manager discovered that someone had pried their way into the backdoor of the business. Several items were taken from the store and surveillance cameras caught the burglars on film. After viewing the footage, deputies on scene began an investigation along the outside perimeter of the store and found shoe tracks. Deputies on scene followed the tracks and with the assistance of a K-9 officer and his partner, continued the track to the front door at 1413 County Highway 1087.

Law enforcement made contact with Roman and Campbell at the residence and further investigation led the deputies to locate clothing used during the commission of the burglary, along with the stolen items.

Campbell and Roman were arrested on scene and transported to the Walton County Department of Corrections.
