UPDATE: Doth PD Make Hit and Run Arrest

UPDATE 2:46pm- The Dothan Police Department has made an arrest of a person wanted in a fatal hit and run accident Tuesday night.

• Ladarius Ward, black male, 21 years of age, of Keating Road was arrested and charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Injuries with bond being established later today.
Dothan Police are searching for the driver of a car involved in a fatal hit and run last night.

About 7:30 last night, a motorcycle traveling west bound in the 3600 block of the Ross Clark Circle.

Investigators say at 2003 Mitsubishi Galant pulled onto the Circle from a driveway into the path of the motorcycle.

The motorcycle collided with the car and the driver landed in the road.

Police say the man was then hit by a 2001 Ford Expedition that was unable to avoid him.

The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital but later died.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing and the name of the victim is expected to be released after all appropriate notifications are made.

Witnesses first told police that both drivers had fled the scene... but the driver of the Expedition contacted police immediately after the crash and is not expected to face any charges.

Investigators are still searching for the driver of the Mitsubishi and are talking to witnesses.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Dothan Police Department.

You know this should have not happen. If people would pay attention to where they are going and how can you run over someone and not know. Excuse me they only came foward and hoped not to get into trouble bc of coming foward. Blake would probably still be here, if the second car would have not hit him. If it was all just an accident why anyone flee. You would get out and help that person. carelessness sometimes hurts or kills someones loved one. Carelessness killed my son. Who pays for it, his family and daughter.

So true!!! Most people do not care, they think of only themselves. The way people drive in this town is unreal. I am so sorry that this happened to this young man, who had his whole life in front of him. All of it taken away in an instant by irresponsible drivers.

I'm glad they caught you. I pray our judicial system gives you everything you deserve! That wasn't an animal you left in the road to die. It was somebody's son, brother, nephew, cousin, co-worker and best friend. I hope blakes family is able to somehow heal their hearts after this horrific tragedy.

My heart goes out to the loved ones of the motorcyclist!! I was in your shoes last nite 27 months ago! I lost my 19 yr old daughter & her 20 yr old husband. We laid them to rest on their 2 month wedding anniversary! THANK GOD it just took over night to arrest the person & that he is not "ILLEGAL"!! Sending prayers to all that was left behind.

That is horrible for somebody to cause an accident then just run off and leave. I hope the person responsible for this has the sense to come forward. They wouldn't want somebody to do this to some of their family. It's heart breaking. I am praying for this man's family, they going to need all of our prayers to deal with this accident and death of their loved one.
