The Dothan Police Department responded to a report of a robbery on December 11, 2010 just after 9:00 p.m. The call came from employees of the Dollar General located at 1060 West Main Street. A description of the suspect was given out and night shift officers quickly filled the surrounding area. An alert patrolman saw the suspect running and a foot pursuit ensued after which the suspect was arrested. Evidence from the crime scene and U.S. Currency taken during the robbery were recovered by police.
• James Clayton Alday, white male, 21 years of age, of Southland Drive was arrested and charged with First Degree Robbery with bond being set later today.
The Dothan Police Department is seeking the help of our local media and community. On December 11, 2010 police responded to the robbery of an individual in the 100 block of Webb Road. According to the victim, he had been robbed by several suspects on Galaxie Drive around 5:00 p.m. and then was confronted later by the same suspects on Webb Road where property and U.S. Currency were taken from him.

The Dothan Police Department Traffic Division responded to a critical car accident on December 12, 2010 just before 11:00 p.m. The accident involved one vehicle which left the roadway and struck a residence in the 100 block of Northridge Road. Extensive structural damage was done to the home as a result of the crash however occupants of the residence escaped without injury. The driver of the vehicle, an adult male, was taken to a local hospital for moderate injuries and the passenger, an adult female was also taken to the hospital where she remains in critical condition. Traffic investigators say the accident is still under investigation at this time. A preliminary investigation has revealed speed and alcohol are believed to be factors and charges will likely be filed against the driver.
