Dothan Man Sentenced for Murder

A Dothan man convicted of capital murder will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

24-year-old Everett Morton was found guilty last month in the 2006 shooting death of Patrick Dixon during a drug-related robbery. Another man was wounded, and Morton was convicted of attempted murder for that offense.

The jury unanimously recommended a sentence of life in prison without parole. Judge Michael Conaway followed that recommendation Wednesday.
